Rob Sherman, Illinois Atheist and activist, is suing the state for unconstitutionally funding construction projects for religious organizations. Sherman identified $2.3 billion in funding designated for religious institutions from a Catholic Student Center at Illinois State University to a St. Theresa School. The named defendant is the governor of Illinois, Pat Quinn.
I don’t know if Sherman will win, but I applaud him for bringing attention to this spending.
